"Jesus said: You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you." (John 15:16)

Giving thanks, for a great start! Go EEC1!

After major disappointment on Friday extra class EEC2 (which conveniently stands for ENglish Extra Class 2, I know, where are the aesthetics? Ahhhhhh....) with ZERO turnout, I was a bit crushed. SO much effort and yet the kids, they don't want to come?

Due to Malaysia Day's celebration, I had to switch my Monday EEC1 to Tuesday this week and even though it was extremely short-notice, 9 darlings showed up, most of them keen and on-task. 5 of them came before I did and started work without prompting because they already knew what they were supposed to do.

These days, I am playing with this idea. Maybe, maybe teachers do not know the answers to everything (we try really hard though, but we weren't even close). I do not know the best ways to make sure a child passes her English Exam, but I do not think I will give up and I will keep trying different stratergies. I do not know how to inspire each and every child in my care, but at leaset I have inspired a handful to at least draw a bigger picture of future possibilities.

Yes, so maybe teachers are not really there as the sole source of solution. But, maybe we are there, just for our presence and our human touch. Maybe just being there for them, to give them hope, to motivate and to inspire is what that really makes the difference. Maybe, just maybe.

I am touched, and taught and have learned, by and from these children, that I can be sure.

Celebrating passion and dedication (:

Thank you Lord for reminding over and over again, "I did not choose but was simply chosen and appointed to bear fruit".
